A Family Affair Since 1957
Dan Bailey began Sherburne County Abstract in 1957 while working as the Sherburne County Recorder. He started Sherburne County Abstract when the county quit making abstracts. Dan brought his father, Chester Bailey’s, slogan of “courtesy and accommodation” to the company. Cathy Bailey McManus started working at the abstract company during her high school years. When Dan retired in 1978, he sold the company to Cathy Bailey McManus, his daughter and Patricia Bailey Rasmussen, his niece. In 1994 Cathy and Pat moved the company to its current location at 351 Main Street NW, Elk River. When Cathy retired in 2016 she sold Sherburne County Abstract & Title to a new family. Christy Bach and Megan Granning, Christy’s niece purchased Sherburne County Abstract & Title.
Christy started in 2002 as a closing assistant and has expanded her knowledge into all areas of the company. Megan started in 2015 as a Closer and has embraced the aspects of a business owner while maintaining her Closer status. As we have grown into the experienced Abstract & Title Company that we are today, we have always maintained our mission to go the extra mile for our customers. Our goal is to put our customers’ needs first and do whatever we can to make their experience with Sherburne County Abstract & Title Co. a great one.
