How Can We Help You?
A Minnesota Title Company Since 1957
Chester Bailey began abstracting when he was elected Sherburne County Register of Deeds (now known as County Recorder) in 1922. He had to run for election every 4 years and he passed out campaign literature reading: “My platform—courtesy and accommodation”. Chet’s wife, Florence, and all of his children worked in the office at various times while growing up. When Dan Bailey came back from California after World War II, Chet retired and Dan ran for Register of Deeds. His wife, Dorothy, and his nieces, Crystal Gray Baldwin and Patricia Bailey Rasmussen, all worked in the office. When the County quit making abstracts in 1957, Dan incorporated Sherburne County Abstract. He continued as County Recorder, using the same campaign slogan as Chet; “courtesy and accommodation”. Cathy Bailey McManus started working at the abstract company during her high school years.
When Dan retired in 1978, he sold the company to Pat and Cathy, and Pat ran for County Recorder.
